About Us

Dristinandan Charitable Trust is a registered Non-Government Organization based in Kolkata, India. The Organization envisions India as a socio economically balanced nation, augmenting her rich cultural heritage, through compassion and care. The organization is striving to become the epicenter of socio economic and cultural activities for development of the backward section of the Rural India. Since it's inception, Dristinandan has been focussing on various programms to spread social awareness, assistance and guidance among the tribal communities in the districts of West Bengal initiating with Birbhum. The organization has an inbuilt system of supportive musicians, actors, creative artists and eminent sports personalities to share and contribute to the inclusive growth initiatives of the Trust.

1994 - 2010

During 1994, a group of academicians and enterprising students of Arts & Fine Arts of Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, assimilated to create a platform for distribution of cultural treasures of Bengal and Pan Indian fine arts to wider spaces across the society. Originally named, “Dristi”, the journey of DRISTINANDAN began with the deepest respect for the Indian culture and its golden heritage.

Dristinandan was, thus, initiated to augment the greater causes for sustaining our valuable art forms and the artists. The non-profit, non-government Society was formed and registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961 on January 14, 2002 at 270/D, Rabindra Sarani, Kolkata – 700007

1994 - 2010

The period 1994-2010 has seen many renowned and famous individuals join our organization and contribute to social service. In this period, Drishnandan was a center for culture. The objective of Drishnandan was to raise the status of Indian fine arts in the country and in society. In the past, we have always had eminent geniuses on our side. Drishtanandan has progressed smoothly over the years by publishing various plays, essays, magazines, etc.

2011 - present

Before 2010, our objectives were to promote Indian Music, Literature, Paintings and Crafts of traditional and folk forms, through, predominantly fund-raising events for the artists in need of larger social recognition, as well as, economic assistance was cherished through an indomitable spirit and conviction. Presently, Drishtinandan operates as an NGO. It is currently known as Drishtinandan Charitable Trust. In this decade, we have also expanded our mission. We focus on sustainable development in Health, Nutrition, Education, Sports, Music and Cultural activities of the economically backward communities of India with a holistic view, aiming to: Achieve positive growth in the social and economic conditions of the tribal and other backward populace of India, Motivate the community to adopt positive activities of sustainable change.
